The first thing you notice when you queue alone is the silence. No mate laughing over comms, no quick warning from the left, no one to drag you out when you've made a mess of it. That quiet can work in your favour, though. You move when you want, stop when something feels off, and loot at your own pace. A solo run also makes every upgrade feel personal, whether you're chasing weapons, materials, or ARC Raiders BluePrints to help shape the kit you'll trust on the next drop.

Use height before you use bullets
Good solo players don't just run through the map. They read it. Getting above the streets with a snap hook, a ladder, a wrecked tower, or a cliff edge gives you a few seconds to breathe and look around. That's often enough. You might spot a patrol moving in a lazy loop, a red zone you'd rather not cross, or another raider cutting across open ground with no idea you're watching. From high ground, you're not invincible, of course. Stay too long and you become the target. But a quick scan from above can save you from walking straight into a fight you didn't need.

Move like someone is already watching
On the ground, don't treat empty space as safe space. It usually isn't. Sprinting across a road might feel faster, but it also turns you into a moving signpost. Use brush, low walls, burned-out cars, pipes, rocks, anything that breaks a clean line of sight. Stop more than feels natural. Listen. A distant shot, a footstep on metal, or the sound of something mechanical shifting nearby can tell you more than the map ever will. Solo play rewards the person who waits an extra ten seconds. It punishes the one who thinks, "I'll probably be fine."

    Pick fights that end quickly
You don't have to shoot just because you can. That's a hard habit to break, especially when another player wanders into view with a pack that probably looks better than yours. Still, a fair fight is rarely fair when you're alone. If you decide to engage, make it ugly and short. Hit an isolated target. Use cover before firing. Change position after the first burst, even if you think they didn't see you. In tight spaces, catching someone unaware can do more than a long gunfight ever will. The longer noise carries, the more likely someone else turns up to collect what both of you dropped.

Your backpack is not a trophy case
Loot discipline matters more when there's no squadmate carrying the extra stuff. It's easy to grab every shiny part and regret it two minutes later when you're out of healing, low on ammo, and too heavy with things you may never use. Keep space for what keeps you alive. A strong heal, enough rounds for one bad fight, and a few useful materials are often worth more than another random item with a nice value attached.
