Making real money in GTA 5 story mode isn't about mugging shops or grinding tiny payouts for hours. The big jump comes from using Lester's assassination missions and the stock market at the right time. If you're starting fresh, or you just want a cleaner route into Los Santos, some players look at GTA V Accounts before building their cash plan, but in story mode the smartest play is still patience. Finish most of the main campaign first, keep Franklin's later Lester jobs untouched, and let Michael, Franklin, and Trevor pile up as much cash as possible before you start investing.



Why Lester's missions matter
Lester's assassination jobs are special because they push certain companies up or down. One brand gets hurt, its rival often benefits, and the market reacts fast. You're forced to do The Hotel Assassination to move the story along, so use that one early. For it, buy Betta Pharmaceuticals on BAWSAQ before the mission, then sell once the return is around 50 percent. After that, Bilkinton Research on LCN can rebound nicely, though you'll need to wait roughly a day in-game and watch the return rather than guessing.



The order most players use
After the main story is done, start the remaining assassination missions one at a time. Before The Multi Target Assassination, buy Debonaire on LCN and sell when the profit reaches roughly 60 to 90 percent. Then move the money into Redwood, which can bounce back much harder after a few in-game days. For The Vice Assassination, buy Fruit on BAWSAQ first, sell after the rise, then switch to Facade for the recovery. The Bus Assassination is different. Don't buy before it. Don't trust the market blindly
LCN and BAWSAQ don't behave in exactly the same way. BAWSAQ often moves quickly, sometimes right after a mission ends, while LCN can take a full business day or several days to hit the best price. Sleep to pass time, but don't sleep through the peak without checking your portfolio. A good habit is to save in a new slot before each investment. Sounds boring, yeah, but it saves you from that awful moment where you waited too long and watched a perfect return slide away.



Using normal stocks after the big payouts
Once Lester's jobs are done, you can still play the market, but it's no longer a sure thing. Look for rival pairs like Redwood and Debonaire, FlyUS and AirEmu, or eCola and Raine. Buy when a graph has dipped hard, then sell when it climbs back toward its usual range. Don't dump every dollar into one stock unless you're fine with being stuck for a while. Some players prefer to spend the fortune on properties, cars, aircraft, and businesses instead. Others may buy GTA V Accounts when they want a different start, but if you're playing the campaign properly, Lester's market trick is still the cleanest path to ridiculous story mode wealth.
